Is my machine connectable?

The connectable and native IoT machines are:

Account
Can I use socials?

Social Network login can be used. So far La Marzocco Home app supports:

  • Google account;
  • Apple Id;
  • Wechat ( W.I.P. ).
Why do I need an account?

The account you create is free and unique and it will be used to connect your machine with you. By doing so you’ll access your machine in every moment and customize recipes to obtain the best coffee according to your taste.

I have already an account in Home or pro app. Will it work?

Yes all acounts  from any previous app version will work and will have all machine previously paired already avaialable in La Marzocco App.

No further actions are required.

How can I create one?

If it’s your first time, an account must be created. From La Marzocco App main page, select “register” then complete all requests on screen and wait for the confirmatio email. Confirm your subscription and you’re done!

My account will be used for...?

If no mass mail and targeted marketing mail are choosen, La Marzocco will use your personal data only in case of support request.

Accounts and data usage

The personal details used to complete the profile registration, will be used only for After Sales Support purposes. Knowing country, machine serial number, name and other details, will make our work faster in filtering our family members to provide the best support in less time possible.

Where are my data recorded?

If you choose to register in La Marzocco systems, all your information will be stored in a Cloud service. Our cloud service providers, located in Europe, are fulfilling all requirements for handling personal details and information in agreement with European Privacy Laws ( GDPR ). The data will be used only by La Marzocco S.r.l. to handle support requests. For further information, please read the Privacy Policy Document .

App Users
What is the Users management in app?

The users management in La Marzocco App gives the chances to invite other users to set the machine simply typing the new user’s mail and send the invitation.

The invited user must login in La Marzocco App with the same mail recipient, or create one account with the same mail,  and will find the machine connected already.

All users can apply changes and settings and invite other users.

How can I invite users to my machine?
  • Select your machine and access its details.
  • Scroll to the page footer and tap on Settings.
  • Find Machine Users and tap on it.
  • Enter the new user’s email and tap Send Invite.
  • A confirmation message will appear at the page footer, indicating that the email has been sent.
Invited user, how it works?

Once the invitation is sent, an email will inforn the invited person.

If the invited person is not registered yet in La Marzocco System, he must proceed as follow:

  • download the LM Pro app;
  • register in LM Pro app using the same mail used for the invitation;
  • set a personal password;
  • login the app once all registration steps are completed.

When logging in the invited person will find automatically the machine that he was invited for, already connected and manageable according to the role assigned during the invitation process.

Can I delete users ?

Sure, under Machine User, find the name and tap on trash bin to delete the user.

How many users can I have?

Basically ther’s no limit for the users number and it’s possible to add as many as you want.

More settings form different users are sent at same time.... now?

In case of multiple settings settings sent at almost same time to your machine, the last one received will take effect. No conflict are in place.

WIFI
Can't see my WiFi in list.
  •  Verify that your router/access point is transmitting at 2.4GHz and not only at 5GHz.
  • Verify that your SSID (wireless name) is not hidden and that it can be broadcasted;
  • Verify the coverage of your WiFi on place. Very low signal strength could not be registered in app then in the machine.

I've completed my configuration but I can't connect from app to my machine.

If the connection procedure concluded succesfully but you still cannot see your machine in app, a possible typo during the WiFi configuration might have happened. Unpair the machine from the app and restart the process. At WiFi password prompt, tap on the eye icon near the password field to verify that the entry is correct.

I don't kow how to activate 2.4GHz Router locked from vendor

If no access to configuration menu is available in your router the best solution is enabling the Guest WiFi. It’s generally available on router main page. Enable the Guest WiFi, set a password and connect first your device, then your machine to the Guest Wifi. Consider also to involve an IT for further router configuration.

No internet / can I control my machine?

During the pairing process, and only for Linea Mini R (2023) and Linea Micra, you have the option to select “Offline Mode.”
In this mode, via Bluetooth, you can:

  • Control your home machine’s coffee boiler temperature;
  • Adjust steam power;
  • Set the Auto Standby feature
  • Turn On and OFF your machine;
  • Add user to connect your machine.

Please note: All other options will remain unavailable unless the machine and app are connected to the internet.

I've made all configuration and verified all, but still no connection

Once the transmission frequency, SSID and password are surely checked and correct but you still can’t connect it could represent a particular case in which some security devices are still blocking the communications between the two devices. On our Bar machines, a sticker will indicate the MAC address of network card. Involve an IT, give the the MAC address and ask them to enable the communication between your already connected mobile device and the new coffee machine. Once the MAC address is either whitelisted or enabled it will be possible to connect La Marzocco Home app and your machine.

Power options
How do the "Power options" work?

Power options allow you to create a schedule to turn your machine on during a certain time of the day, and then off during times when it won’t be used.
On home machines, you even create multiple schedules, for example if you like to have a coffee in the morning and the afternoon but would like the machine to turn off to conserve energy in between.

    • Commercial machines allow you to schedule times for the machine to power on and off, as well as schedule a day of the week that the machine remains off, for example if the business is closed.
    • The Linea Classic S allows you to create a separate schedule for each day of the week.

These can be controlled through the scheduling tab of the device menu in the app.

What is the difference between "Power options" and "Auto-standby"?
  • Power options allow you to schedule specific times for the machines to turn on and be ready for use and then turn off to save power.
    For example, a café could schedule the machine to turn on in the morning before they open, and to turn off after close. Or you could schedule your home machine to turn on and be ready when you wake up in the morning and then turn off when you go to work.

  • Auto standby allows you to conserve power by placing the machine into standby mode after a set amount of time following your last brew or after the machine was powered on.

How can I activate Bluetooth?

To activate Bluetooth device in your machine, please follow the instructions published in this page footer.

The machine versions seleceted will bring to the video content.

Is it necessary and safe?

The first connection with your machine is made only via Bluetooth and it’s necessary for the app to discover and configure your wireless connection writing this required information in the electronic board. The Bluetooth range is very short, max 10 meters, and safe. It’s safe because every time you would like to pair a device to another via Bluetooth, acceptances in both equipments are required.

La Marzocco App is available for Android devices as well as Apple devices in respective stores for free.

The minimum requirements for devices are:

  • devices with iOS version 16.0 and above;
  • devices with Android version 10.0 and above.

Phones and tablets may connect in the same way.

The new La Marzocco App available in stores is already compatible with all IoT connectoble La Marzocco Machines.

Any other OS is not supported yet.

Can't make settings on machine after app update.

In order to solve this simple problem you can proceed deleting the previous app version and reinstalling the new version. Delete also the previously recorded information cleaning the cache according to your phone/tablet model:

Sometimes the issue can be solved by unpairing and re-pairing the machine.

The app doesn't spot any machine...

La Marzocco App requires, to work properly, to enable in your device the following services:

  • Bluetooth access;
  • Geolocation access;
  • Mobile data access;
  • Local network access.

These accesses can be granted at first run or in app properties.

Verify that in your machine the Bluetooth device was properly enabled and activated.

Password problems and registration issues.

Password must accomplish several complexity requirements to be accepted.

During registration or during password change, the new password must follow these policies:

  • must contain one upper case letter;
  • must contain two numbers;
  • must contain one special character like @!?;
  • must be from 8 up to 16 characters long.

I forgot my password, ...now...?

If you forgot your password you can proceed in two different ways:

  1. Open La Marzocco App and below the password field, tap on “Forgot password?”. Follow on screen instructions to register a new password (see password requirements);
  2. You can request help through our Support request form. We will get in touch as soon as possible providing the solution.
I use social network to login and I've changed my mail...

If you’ve changed your email in the social network used to login, get in touch with us with our Support request form. In description rememebr to tell us:

  • previous email address used;
  • new email in use;
  • social network in use to login.

We will reply as soon as possible solving the problem.

Coffee Station
How do I set up my coffee station?
    • Setting up a coffee station is easy and allows you to connect several devices together seamlessly. For example, to set up a coffee station for a Linea Mini, Pico, and Connected Scale you would:
      1. Add your Mini using the add device button from the home screen of the app at the bottom of the screen.
      2. Add your Pico using the add device button from the home screen of the app at the bottom of the screen.
      3. Create a new coffee station from the home screen of the app, near the top of the screen.
      4. When creating the coffee station, select your Mini and your Pico, and then add a scale at the bottom of the screen. When adding the scale, turn on your scale and then select it from the list.
      5. Now your coffee station is set up. Train the Scale’s location by pressing on the scale in the Mini and Pico device menu.
      6. Now you’re able to set a dose for both devices.
      7. To move the scale between devices, simply turn it off, place it on the new device, and turn it back on.

How do I use the scale correctly?

By creating a coffee station, you can use the scale to control the amount of ground coffee when using a Pico grinder and to control the amount of brewed espresso when using a Linea Mini and Linea Mini R ( 2023 ).

  1. When paired with a Pico grinder, you can use it to control the dose of your ground coffee in the La Marzocco App.
    Location training is required in the device menu for the Pico the first time you use it. This lets the Pico recognize when the scale is placed in the grinding position.
    When grinding coffee, simply place the scale on the Pico and then turn on the power.
    The scale will recognize that it is connected to the grinder, and you’ll see the dose on the grinder change from time to weight, matching the dose selected in the app.
    It will also display a link icon on the left of the grinder indicating the connection.
    Press the dose button on grinder to begin grinding, and it will stop whenthe programmed weight is reached.
    You can change the dose either on the grinder itself, or in the device page for the Pico grinder.

     

  2. When paired with a Linea Mini, you can use it to control the dose of your brewed espresso in the La Marzocco App.
    Location training is required in the device menu for the Mini the first time you use it.
    This lets the Mini recognize when the scale is placed in the brewing position.
    When brewing espresso, simply place the scale on the Mini underneath the group and then turn on the power.
    The scale will recognize that it is connected to the Mini. The display will show relevant information about brewing, along with a link icon on the left of the scale.
    If you have a newer Mini with the built-in timer, the scale will display the target weight on the left side and the current weight on the right side.
    If you have a previous generation mini, the scale will display a shot timer on the left side and the current weight on the right side.
    Move hte brewing pad in brewing position to start extrasction and will stop when it reaches the programmed weight.
    You can change the dose on machine’s page on Brew By Weigh section.

How do I know that my scale is connected to the machine/grinder?
    • The scale will beep 3 times, indicating connection to a device.
    • The scale will show a link icon in the lefthand corner.
    • The scale’s display will also change, depending on the device it is connected to
      1. Linea Mini with built-in timer: the scale will display the target weight on the left side and the current weight on the right side.
      2. Previous generation Linea Mini: the scale will display a shot timer on the left side and the current weight on the right side.
      3. Pico grinder: The scale will display the currently selected dose target.
      4. Swan grinder: The scale will display the currently selected dose target.

 

How do I move the scale between the machine and the grinder?

If you have both a Linea Mini and a Pico grinder, you can combine this by placing all 3 devices in a coffee station.
Once created, this allows you use the same scale between multiple devices. For example:

      1. Place the scale on the Pico and turn it on. The Pico senses that the scale is in position.
      2. Grind coffee using grind-by-weight.
      3. Turn off the scale, place it on the Mini and turn it back on. The Mini senses that the scale is in position.
      4. Brew espresso using brew-by-weight.

Note that scale location training needs to be performed on both the Mini and the Pico so that they can recognize when the scale is in position.
